Alopecia Hair Loss Terms:

Baldness is referred to by the medical profession as alopecia, which is the partial or complete loss of hair from the head or body.

Alopecia Androgenetica (herediteria) this is commonly known as male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness.  This type of hairloss is attributed to family genetics, immune dysfunction or DHT.  Clinical trials show Thymuskin® to be 67% effective in male pattern baldness and 95% effective for female pattern baldness.  GKL02 has a immunological effect on the follicle by inhibiting 5-alpha reductase (enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone [dht].  DHT is the most common reason for hair loss in young adults and considered to be androgenetic hair loss.

Alopecia Areata [aka alopecia celsi, alopecia circumscripta and Jonston's alopecia]  This type of hair loss is highly noticeable due to its unique round patches of mising hair on the head, face, arms or legs.  Alopecia Areata has been linked to immune system dysfunction.  Thymuskin® in clinical trials is proven to be 86% effective in men and women associated with this disorder.

Alopecia Totalis Totalis is merely an extension of areata but instead of round patchy spots, this engulfs the whole head and face leaving no eyebrow, eyelashes, or any facial hair.

Alopecia Universalis This condition is very distrubing to individuals that suffer with this problem.  Universalis is alopecia areata at its worst phase and prohibits any hair growth on the entire body from head to toe.

Alopecia Diffusa  [aka Alopecia Disseminata]  hair loss around the whole scalp or even from other parts of the body.  Causes range from nutritional deficiency (lack of zinc or iron), thyroid gland, pollution toxins, or some chronic or generalized illness. Thymuskin®  cannot correct this condition completely until the underlying problem is addressed.  After correction, Thymuskin® is 87% effective in this area of hair restoration.

Telogen Effluvium Hair follicle growth cycles consist of three phases which are anagen, telogen, and catagen. Disruption of these cycles lead to unwanted hair loss that comes and goes. Thymuskin® can correct this problem even during and after pregnancy (postpartum telogen effluvium).

Anagen Effluvium  This is the direct toxic insult to the rapidly dividing cells of the hair matrix.  Attributed to anti-cancer drugs.  Review clinical trials for more information online at www.usrr.org.
